
Personal Interest Courses
Students may select certain courses from the degree programme to study as personal interest courses.
These courses will be offered on campus and by distance, and are taught for a total of 64 hours per course.
If the course is studied by distance, some attendance at compulsory weekend sessions is required.
Completion of assessment tasks such as tests and assignments is optional, but if completed, and an overall pass of 50% or more achieved, the course can be credited to the Bachelor of Natural Medicine .
Each course costs $620 which includes GST, but does not include text books and materials. Students will not be eligible for student loans for personal interest study.
The following courses are available in 2011:
Semester One
Each of these courses are taught in two 2 hour blocks per week; distance also available:
- Principles and Practices of Natural Medicine
- Traditional Practices
- Foundations of Research
- Anatomy & Physiology 1
Semester Two
Each of these courses are taught in two 2 hour blocks per week; distance also available:
- History, Philosophy and Politics of Western Medicine
- Herbal Medicine
- Anatomy and Physiology 2
- Therapeutic Massage (A&P1 or other similar biological science course)
- Homeopathy for Acute Conditions
SPCNT reserves the right to cancel classes if the minimum number of enrolments is not met.
