In year 2 students must obtain an approved First Aid Certificate at their own expense.

Year 1 courses

Semester 1

  1. Principles and Practices of Natural Medicine
  2. Traditional Practices
  3. Foundations of Research
  4. Anatomy & Physiology 1

Semester 2

  1. History, Philosophy & Politics of Western Medicine
  2. Herbal Medicine
  3. Anatomy & Physiology 2
  4. Therapeutic Massage  

Year 2 courses

Semester 1

  1. Pathophysiology 1
  2. Nutrition 1
  3. plus 2 option courses from one of these electives  – Western Herbal Medicine, or Traditional Maori Medicine, or Traditional Pasefika Medicine.

Semester 2

  1. Pathophysiology 2
  2. Nutrition 2
  3. Safe Practices
  4. Mind/Body Medicine

Year 3 courses

Semester 1

  1. Pathophysiology 3
  2. Clinical Practice 1
  3. plus 2 option courses from one of these electives - Western Herbal Medicine, or Traditional Maori Medicine, or Traditional Pasefika Medicine.

Semester 2

  1. Clinical Practice 2, 3, 4
  2. Managing a Professional Practice
