The South Pacific College of Natural Therapies (SPCNT) is New Zealand's first and foremost provider of natural health education programmes, taught by highly qualified and experienced educators in new purpose-built premises.
Established in 1940, SPCNT is NZQA accredited to offer the qualifications BACHELOR OF NATURAL MEDICINE and DIPLOMA IN TRADITIONAL PASEFIKA HEALING. Our unique Bachelor of Natural Medicine programme offers four optional pathways:
- Western Herbal Medicine
- Traditional Maori Medicine
- Traditional Pasefika Medicine
- Homeopathy (Pending NZQA approval)
The degree replaces all of the diplomas previously offered by the College. Graduates from the degree can practise as naturopaths and herbalists and are eligible to register as members of the professional bodies which regulate these professions. Graduates of the Diploma can begin practising as traditional healers.
SPCNT also offers two qualifications for students who do not complete, or do not wish to enrol in the three year degree programme. These are the one-year DIPLOMA in NATURAL HEALTH STUDIES and the two-year DIPLOMA in NATURAL MEDICINE. Graduates from these diplomas are not eligible to practice.
